Power of Words Conference
I spent the weekend at the TLA Network’s Power of Words Conference at Pendle Hill Retreat Center outside of Philadelphia. I was so completely drowning in work and life leading up to it, I didn’t have time to look at the conference schedule or think about what I hoped to get out of the conference. Though if I had, I’m certain I couldn’t have imagined even half of what I got. It was an intimate coming together, which made it difficult to choose which workshops to attend because all of the leaders were so incredible both personally and professionally. Each of the four workshops I did attend awarded me lasting gifts that I will take back to my own creative work as well as to my work in the hospitals–and even to my work as a mother.
Often I come back from conferences feeling energized but in the direction of feeling driven to make big changes, push harder, work differently to align myself better with a vision of myself that I’m not living up to. I came back from this conference feeling really peacefully energized. This is what I need in my life. Good people, satiated by good work.
