Sundays

This morning, Shark said, if Monday were a person, he’d be the most annoying person. It seemed like the start of a poem, so we pressed on–if Monday were a person, what would he be like?  Shark’s poem:

He’d smell like rotten eggs and wear
formal clothes (but not a tuxedo)
and he’d listen to classical music.
He’d talk super slowly
And his laugh would be annoying.

Hurricane said, if Friday were a person, everyone would love him.  His poem:

He’d listen to rock and roll
and wear a rockstar shirt and baseball pants
and he’d smell like barbecue
and he’d say funny things

But Sunday? They didn’t talk about Sunday. To me, Sunday would be wistful, beautiful, slightly repentant. She would be painfully cognizant of her limits, and determined to make the best of what she had, though always sort of teetering on the brink of tears.  She would be kind of a bitch, but hard not to like.
