Go ahead, throw it on the ground

Sometimes I’m unreasonably pissed off. Does that happen to you? Never mind, I’m not asking. I know it does. Don’t deny it. Some people are better at disguising it, sometimes we are better at holding it together than others. But other times…well, ask my kids about other times.

Today’s prompt is about looking at those moments, which are zero per cent funny when we are in them, with a sense of humor. This has become a catch phrase way of diffusing some of the irrational anger spirals we find one another in around our house these days.

Check out this video. This link must be clicked. There’s no getting around it. For this prompt you have to see this.

Now write your own stanzas. For example, the other morning my younger son FLIPPED out because his brother told him what to wear. We turned it into this:

Some middle school phony tried to bust on my clothes
Told me to get a sweatshirt when I ain’t even cold.
You can’t tell me what to wear, poser.
I’m not a part of your system. So I threw it to the ground.
I don’t want this layer. I don’t feel your weather.

Go on, your turn. Incorporate the following words/phrases:

“Phony” “I’m not a part of your…” “So I threw it to the ground”
